Upside down is Beautiful!

A break in the rain, pretty ponies in the water! I love the rippling in the water and the clouds in this photo! ❀

I had a wonderful morning with my ponies. I donned my mask, put on my rubber boots and headed to the feed store to buy shavings for my horses stalls. Here at this stables and most in town, only the box stalls come with shavings. The paddocks are dry parcels and depending on the boarding facilities the owner of the horses supply their own shavings or bedding. We use these pelleted shavings and/or fine pine to help soak up the water and aide in a dry area for the horses to stand and eat and/or lay down at night. It’s worth every penny to put down some bedding to help keep a dry area during these wet days. I was able to turn out the horses and I believe that my two may be the only ones at these stables that thoroughly enjoy the lake in the corner of the arena!! Silly ponies! πŸ˜€

My girlfriends horse Gracie! She rolled a couple of times in the wet sand. She is so silly and was feeling so good today, trotting and running around the arena! You can see the small lake in the corner of the arena behind Gracie.
I am enjoying these cool photos with the ripples and mirror images from the water! I just have to share all the photos I took today, SO MUCH FUN!
Zack looks like he is looking at himself in the mirror!! Haha!
Close up as they meander in the water. Love the ripples and I am too close to get their whole body in the mirror.

It felt so very good to be outside. It has not rained all day but it is very cloudy out and more rain will be here soon. It is to rain all day long tomorrow and then ease up into Friday with the storm blowing away by the weekend. I heard some thunder rumbling in the distance when I finished up at the barn today. Stormy clouds all around with the sun breaking through here and there and I was so happy I was in the arena when the sun shone enough so I could get some really excellent photos. I saved the best for last. When I took the photo I did hold my phone upright instead of sideways and I snapped this photo. When I got home and I viewed my photos it was upside down! Wait, what? I believe it is partially because of they way I took it, but I decided to use it even though I could flip it around. I thought it was a really cool and BEAUTIFUL PHOTO!! One of the best reflections yet!! I hope you enjoy. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Upside and beautiful! Fun with photos, and my pretty ponies!

There you have it! I thought the mirror image so very cool I wanted to share as it is ~ so exciting and so much fun!! I just keep staring at this photo, it’s so interesting. They all had some good exercise and then a good grooming as they ate their lunch. I really needed this time outside and am so grateful for my ponies. They bring me such joy and relaxation. I hope you all have a good week!

The Weekly smile

My friend Trent hosts a weekly smile and I decided it’s about time I share my weekly smile! I am so HAPPY about this as I truly believe that a smile to share is so important to us all. I try and smile to everyone I see each day, it’s so contagious and it makes you feel so good. I find it so helpful to stay positive so here is what makes me smile this week. πŸ˜€

Flowers of all kinds make me smile! This is in my front yard. πŸ˜€
I don’t have a special camera, but am thankful for the Live Focus on my phone camera!

I have shared many times how much I love photography. Photos just make me SMILE. I love the beauty that you can attain whether it be black and white photos, still shots, close up shots, I can stare at beautiful photos all day! Some day I will have to start saving for a nice camera but for now I am so happy I can take decent photos and share for my smile this week! To be honest, my weekly smiles will probably always contain photos – I’m just that addicted to them!! ❀

This is a small sized palm that is in my front yard and I thought this an interesting photo.

I was enjoying my flowers today as I watered in the front yard. They all just make me smile so I thought I would share. Today or last night was my night off so I am enjoying this day outside not only at the barn with my horses earlier but with my flowers in my yard. Oh yes, and I am enjoying the day with my hubby, my best friend, my companion for life. Thankful for these smiles. What made you smile today?

My tea rose up close!

Thank you for the SMILES!

Roses are blooming!

This rose has the most AMAZING rose smell! I LOVE IT! ❀

I have a small garden in my front yard with a few rose bushes that are LOVING all the rain and I am getting some blooms. I can’t believe it is almost Spring and I absolutely LOVE the smell of roses. I find it amazing how smells can evoke memories as these beautiful roses remind me of my youth. This blog is all about roses! πŸ˜€

A rose bud, so fat and cute! ❀
This is so beautiful as the bud opens so dark in color, fading with the flower below as it ages on the vine!

Nature just amazes me with all it’s beauty. I have a handful of rose bushes that are all different, the variegated colors above are just gorgeous. I love being outside and seeing what the day brings and what is new in the world. There are a lot of fun things to observe. I wish I got my camera out yesterday at the stables as I observed a wild finch as it flew and perched itself on the fence and I thought what funny whiskers – haha – it’s beak was full of horse hair as it was gathering this for its nest! Darn, it would have been a great photo!!

Such a big rose, so compact in the middle! This is my favorite smelling rose.

I cheated and the first rose is the same rose as the last, but I tried a super close shot opposed to farther away. My favorite is the super close up shot, with my second being the rose that is light yellow with a pink fringe! I like the rose bud too, heck, I love them all. I just had to share my roses today as they put a giant smile on my face and I can’t wait until the sun returns. We will have some rain tonight and we have just seen the sun a little bit here and there the last week or so. It is to warm up this week and I am SO EXCITED! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Can’t wait for SPRING, can’t wait to garden!

For the Love of HORSES!

This weekend is my younger sisters birthday. Actually her birthday was Friday 9/14 and she was born in the best month as fall approaches, I LOVE fall, probably my favorite time of year. It’s a toss-up between fall and spring with the other two seasons right behind. I would not mind living where there were more distinct seasons, a colder winter, maybe even a little snow. It would be great fun to live where the pace was slower, a bit more relaxed and not so crazy like it is here where there are just waaayyy too many people in Southern California!

Happy Birthday Sharon! As I ramble on about other things, how my mind does that as I try to put thoughts down, and I do it in person as we were changing subjects today when my best friend and I were enjoying each others company at the barn. We ramble on from one subject to the next and then back again! Haha, I think it’s a girl thing, so I apologise to those who find my writings crazy or off topic sometimes. I do edit, and try to fix it if it’s too off topic but I haven’t written in a while so I have lots of stuff ruminating in my mind! My sister Sharon and I have had a love story for horses, I know she misses me as much as I miss her and we shared so much together and one of the biggest things we shared were our horses!! So I dedicate this blog to my sister Sharon as I envisioned her on our beautiful trail ride today with my best friend Sally. The weather was amazing, sunny and just right and I want to share with you the photos I took of this blessed day in the saddle!Β  πŸ˜€

20180915_094129.jpg

I just stare at this photo, the LOVE for my girl Miss Chloe is hard to describe. It is a lot like owning a dog, as they display unconditional love like dogs do and the bonds you form are the same as they see you walk onto the property they whinny for you as they walk around their stall anxiously waiting for you to take them out for what ever you will be doing with them for that day. They are so willing to please, and consistency is so important with these large animals. She knows we will go to arena for a turn out or a turn out and a trail ride. Today was trail ride day, she knows I have apple treats as she reaches for one in the next photo!

20180915_094145.jpg

She is so adorable, fun, trusting, pretty as a princess! Her and I are like peas and carrots, knowing each other like we can read each others minds. Actually, they can read your body language, very, very well. So we head out on the trail and Sally and I on her pretty mare Gracie walk along our trails as we catch up on our busy week we had. We talked about how many trail rides we have been on over the last 40 years we have known each other and we figured it to be something like 5,000 trail rides!! That’s just so awesome!Β  ❀

I have probably written before about how I have adopted Zack and today I rode him on the trail by myself as I have two horses and Sally only has one. Occasionally, I am able to hook up with another rider at our barn, but the timing didn’t happen today so I just went on a second trail ride alone on Zack. I did not go as far on Zack, but I took some photos as I thought it would be fun to share and since it is my sister’s birthday weekend, he was her horse for many years. I adopted him from her since she moved to Idaho. She didn’t want to bring him for several different reasons one of the biggest was he was diagnosed with EPM. He is all healthy now as he has been treated and is doing great! He and I have formed a nice bond too. It will be three years soon that I have owned him and Chloe and Zack are best friends too!!

20180915_112108.jpg

He is such a handsome boy, he is looking for treats too. Okay, I know I spoil my horses but they are easy to spoil. I do it in a way where we still have mutual respect for each other. Here he is looking like he is winking at me, I think he chews the side of his tongue and lately a lot of my photos I’m catching them with them blinking. Oh well, I’m going to share anyways! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

20180915_112114.jpg

For the love of horses, they are amazing animals. I absolutely love everything about them. I can groom them for hours, I love the smell of the barn, the hay, the leather in the tack room. I could be there all day, cleaning tack, cleaning stalls, I am not there all day but I can spend a good half a day there on my days off. I could easily get back into competitive riding, but I do not own horses that are able to compete. I know I have that drive in me, but I am also very happy that I am able to do what I can with the horses I own and trail riding and light arena riding is doable and absolutely FUN. They truly make my life rich, and I feel like I am living a dream. Thank you for reading my fun-filled day with my ponies and my friends at the barn! I know my sister is having a wonderful birthday weekend enjoying it with her family up in Idaho. LOVE you sister, love to all my family who live all over these United States. I hope you all had a great weekend too!  ❀

Loving Horses forever,

Walking Motivation and Pretty Trees!

I need to be walking and will be honest by saying I have a hard time fitting walking into my busy schedule. But I try to walk at least twice a week which I can do on my two days off of work. I would like to walk more often, but am happy I do exercise at the stables so it isn’t like I am just sitting around on my behind all day long. Of course, I do relax on my couch so that I can work on my blog (like I am doing right now!) and I also work on my crochet projects. I’m thinking of something for some Christmas presents this year. I have one idea that I may share in a blog later when I complete everything.Β  But I digress as I wanted to share what I see on my walks around my neighborhood, beautiful trees!Β  ❀

20180818_070759.jpg

These trees have been on this empty lots for years, they are so huge and I bet they are very old. I live in the old town side of our little city and so we have lots of huge trees! The collection of trees are astounding and I am not a tree connoisseur and only know the names of a few but I do know that as I walk there is always something beautiful to look at and there are some that are still blooming, which makes it even prettier as I walk along taking in nature. I have to say that I can roll out of bed, not wanting to walk and just wanting to sit in my pajamas and have my breakfast and sip my coffee, and relax. I find that the less I walk the more I beat myself up over not walking, so when I take those first steps and take in the fresh air I’m already feeling the healing power of the outdoors. I look around and take in everything I see, from the birds singing to the trees and quiet streets I walk upon. It is nature giving strength in every step I take, I absolutely LOVE the outdoors. I have more photos to share, I think they are really cool!Β  πŸ˜€

20180818_065536.jpg

This tree is across the street from the other tree I featured above. This is so unusual and I believe is probably a really old tree as well.  We do not have sidewalks in my town because this is Horse Town USA and is considered rural living. I am on the opposite side of the horse trail. We have over 100 miles of horse back riding trails in my town. If you read my blogs, you will know that is why I LOVE Norco! ❀ ❀ ❀

20180818_065703.jpg

This is a crepe myrtle tree which thrive all over Norco. I had to take this photo because my girlfriend has recommended we plant these in our yard. My husband only wants palm trees and we believe he accidentally bought pigmy palms as around the front of our house they just never grew and are really small. We do have some tall palm trees, but he is stuck on only having palm trees as we want to buy more trees and take out the runts. I don’t see why we can’t have a bunch of different kinds of trees including palm trees as you will see I’ll share a photo of palms and all sorts of different kinds of trees, and they all look lovely together! Haha, my hubby is just stuck in his ways I think, only wanting a certain look I guess. He is so silly!Β  πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I took the photo with the skinny palms on the left just to show there are so many different trees in the neighborhood. The middle photo I am walking into the morning sun and there are seven trees that are on this tiny houses land and they are absolutely HUGE! And the owner has a sign taped to one of the trees that says “Do Not Cut Trees” which I do not know who would come onto his property and cut his trees, they are just enormous. Definitely the biggest around so close to his house!! And the big palm tree that clearly needs to be trimmed look so pretty with all its tendrils or seeds hanging. You can see it is very close to the curb, and many here think of these palms like weeds as they just pop-up anywhere. I am not kidding, the day after I took this photo I was driving to the stables when I saw and heard chain saws as they removed this big palm tree! I couldn’t believe it, well I could, but what luck I got a photo right before the demise of this huge palm. Kind of sad, but I guess they didn’t like it in front of their house, or the cost of its upkeep probably.

20180818_071125.jpg

I know trees can provide a ton of shade, which clearly will help keep your house cool. You can’t even see the house in this photo and I can’t even fit the tree in the photo it is so tall! It is incredibly beautiful, here is the sign on this trees trunk!

20180818_071155.jpg

I wonder how old these trees are? They have been here untouched for the 15 years we have lived here, I think they are very old since they are so very big!!

20180818_071559.jpg

I hope you have enjoyed my walk around my neighborhood. This photo is my house and the “weed” palms that my hubby took from tiny palms growing in the empty field across the street. Yes, he just dug them up and planted like you see and they are just growing like weeds, haha, but we think they are beautiful trees! We live on the corner and a bit up from the street which makes it nice because we live across the street from the Junior High School. So there is a bit of traffic when school starts and ends, but because we are not at street level the noise from the cars is minimal. I enjoy my walks and thought how fun it would be to share the pretty trees I see along my way!

Loving photography and the pretty trees!
