35 Years And Counting!

So this happened 35 years ago today, on this date August 19, on a Sunday afternoon!

I know it is not the best photo and as much as I love photography, I never got my wedding photos enlarged and framed. I am so bad, and I am very unconventional. I did not do what I should have done and printed up photos of our wedding. I have a wedding photo-album packed away somewhere, its too long ago to worry about it now. I can’t believe it has been 35 years! I say this all the time, how does time fly by so fast? I do not know all the ages of my readers and I think some are young and for those of you who are really young (for me really young is in your 20’s, and you think you have a million years ahead of you!) BEWARE; in the blink of an eye – you wonder what happened to the last 35 years. BUT they have been absolutely WONDERFUL YEARS! The good, the bad and the ugly, we have seen it all. I wonder what is next? What adventures will we be experiencing? it is fun to wonder! 😀

I walked into my kitchen to a surprise when I got home from work, I wonder what it is?
WOW! Jade Anniversary plate and Jade whale tail earrings and a beautiful, wonderful loving card from my hubby. He is such a sweetheart! ❤ ❤ ❤
We don’t share photos of ourselves very often. I asked him if I can share. I figure this kind of thing doesn’t happen every day, wow, 35 years!

We had a wonderful breakfast this morning and I took the opportunity to take a few photos to share on this special day. I wanted to say that the last 35 years have been amazing. We brought into this world 3 beautiful children who are all grown up and on their own. I talk a lot about my family so I won’t go into detail here, but they bring us much joy. We are having a blast being grandparents, oh my, I did not know how much joy this would bring to our lives. And we have had ups and downs, as any couple does, it hasn’t always been easy but we have made it through it all together. Here are a few more photos. They were fun to take, even though selfies are my nemesis. 😀 😀 😀

Selfies are not easy, and he wanted the hats to show up better. We are hat people!!
Haha, Now you can see his hat and mine too! He didn’t want me to use this photo but I really like it!
Haha, hiding my little double chin. It sucks getting old, things can start to sag!

My husband has a very small digital footprint and so I told him I was going to blog today about our Anniversary. He was totally fine with this and with sharing our selfies. Isn’t he adorable? Okay, he’s a little scruffy looking but I am okay with the facial hair. He comes and goes with it, but the last time he was with a mustache only earlier this year, he told me he just got so sick and tired of shaving that he was going to grow out his beard again. Whatever you like dear! I Love him so….

My Anniversary card to my hubby, and YES! isn’t it just the best with the horses on it! He is the Love of my life. The most understanding hubby a horse crazy girl could ask for, I am truly blessed.

I can remember when I was 18 years old thinking how old 30 was. Oh dear, I am double that and will be 60 next year in 2020. I do not feel that old, I think its the new 60! I do get sore feet from work, and my joints in my hands ache a bit more than they use too. My goodness, it can’t be because I am getting old. Haha, they say you are as old as you feel, only sometimes I think, darn it all… I guess I am getting old.

I wanted to get my hubby something for our Anniversary something I am really, really terrible at because I never know what to buy for him and he texted me this ~ “Ha… don’t need to get me anything. I have you and that’s perfect!!” ~ I end with this as isn’t this the most sweetest thing anyone could ever say to someone, he melts my heart. I love him to the moon and back again.

Happy Anniversary Hubby!

~With Love, Diana ❤

Weekend Coffee Share; Birthday Fun!

Welcome to my weekend coffee share where we share a cup of coffee or tea or whatever suites your fancy to drink. To friends or family I would like to share my recent activities as I didn’t share last weekend so I am going to share two weekends in one. You just have to do what you can to keep up with these busy days, right? That’s how I look at it anyways. Last weekend was my granddaughters 4th birthday, what? How did 4 years just fly by ? BUT it did and she is the cutest little 4 year old ever, okay, in my eyes she is but then I know I am prejudice. Haha, all little 4 year old children are adorable and it is so wonderful to see the world through their eyes!

Happy Birthday to you, cutie patutie! We had such FUN celebrating!

My daughter and I flew to Arizona to celebrate with everyone and we enjoyed every minute. You can see in the photo above that she had to have a baby tooth removed recently because it had died and got infected after she had bumped it when she was I think 2 years old. The doctor said the permanent tooth is fine but won’t come in for another 2 years so she will have that little gap for awhile. She is so silly with her big “cheese” smile. Before I took this photo, she went and put on her My Little Pony head band and put it on a bit crooked, the photo I think is adorable. She just melts my heart! ❤ ❤ ❤

My son and his beautiful wife as we wait for a delicious breakfast!
My daughter with her kitties brother, yup, they both got a kitten from the same litter!

I could share so many photos, but am picking what I think are pertinent and fun. Can I get you more coffee or tea? I have to talk a little about my daughter and these cute kitties. My daughter absolutely LOVES cats but isn’t the biggest fan of kittens. Yes, sounds kind of crazy but kittens are more work and have way more energy than adult cats. These kitties are not scratching us any more like they did when we first brought them home, but they still bite – more like play bite – and are into everything. It can be a bit exhausting and thankfully they grow up fast. I hope my daughter’s kitten will start to behave himself and grow up fast so she can enjoy the purring sounds with out a kitty mouth biting at her hand. Silly kitties, are just so darn playful! 😀

OdySea Aquarium in AZ, fun to see the fish or sea turtles in the Sea!
Lots of sharks in this big giant tank!

On Sunday last weekend we were able to go the the OdySea Aquarium which was great fun. They have a butterfly museum there too which I will have to check out on my next visit to Arizona. I had to catch a flight home on Sunday so we didn’t have time to see both attractions, but I really enjoyed my time there and I also purchased a few souvenirs. My family there says they like the aquarium of the pacific better and I haven’t visited there yet, so I would like to do that one of these days. I was looking online and there are a few aquariums here on the West coast to visit, which makes sense since we are right on the ocean here in California. The aquarium in Arizona has some rescued sea turtles that would not be able to survive in the ocean. I am glad there is a place for displaced or injured animals to live out their lives once the injury has healed. Some of the injuries are from boats/boats motors, especially to the sea turtles.

I am home and this weekend am enjoying my horses! Zack and Chloe
Two photos with Zack and his ears are forward! Only for a treat he says!!

I have to say that the weekends go by much too fast. I was so excited to go to Arizona to see my family and spend time with my granddaughter. Oh how I miss them already. I have family in so many states here in the West and I miss them all! We try and stay in touch and I do know that with this blog and with the internet we all do stay connected pretty well. Certainly better than back in the day when all you could is talk on the phone or snail mail. I know you could print photos and send them to friends and relatives, nowadays you can share in an instant! It is truly amazing. I am amazed easily and am loving how I can share my weekend by just typing all of these words and then click on Publish and its done! SO COOL! I so enjoy sharing, what have you been doing this weekend? do you have any exciting places you are traveling too? or just working on things at home? Thanks for spending some time here with me as I reminisce and enjoy this weekend coffee share.

My Weekly Smile, July 24th 2019 #weeklysmile

My weekly smile as I sit here thinking, is about my daughter. I am sitting here thinking of her and I have a great big smile on my face. She is coming home Thursday night and is visiting for a couple days then heading back home to Orcutt, CA. She works (and is stationed) at Vandenberg, AFB and I have had the pleasure of taking care of this cute little kitten for her and I thought I would share some photos of him. He grows each week and he moves so much he is a bit difficult to photograph. In one photo he looks like he is almost winking at me, as he started to blink or something. Silly kitty is always on the move!

This is Wolfie, I LOVE his blue eyes!
He looks like he is winking at me! Silly kitty!

I forgot how much energy kittens have, oh my, he can run and play and play and play! AND he has learned to not scratch me! He was a little crazy at first but has learned the word “No” and is very respectful of our human space. Sort of, most of the time. We constantly remind him, but he is smart and is learning. He is SO ADORABLE! If you Love kitties, he is really a lovable guy.

My daughter’s flowers she has in her apartment!

I was chatting with my daughter this last weekend and she told me she bought some flowers and I asked her to share with a photo. I told her I’d like to share it on my blog and what a better place since this blog is about her and how she makes me SMILE! Thank you sweet daughter, I am so truly lucky to have such a WONDERFUL daughter as YOU! ❤ ❤ ❤

Eating breakfast with my daughter just a few weeks ago! Isn’t she beautiful? YES!!

I am having such a great time sharing my smile with you today. I love sharing what I love and I do not think I have had a chance to dedicate a blog post specifically about my daughter and only my daughter. I have shared my grown children here on my blog, and my love for all of them makes me SMILE! They are all beautiful, loving human beings and I am truly blessed. What are you smiling about today? are you doing something special this week? it doesn’t have to be special, it can just be something simple that makes you smile. Thank you Trent, a friend here in this blogging world who hosts the weekly smile. This just made my day! ❤

Smiling with my pretty daughter!

Tribute To My Parents ~

From my garden! ❤

I have been thinking a lot about my parents. I do not talk about them often and to be completely honest I do not think about them like you would normally think about your parents because it can be painful to think about, I miss them so. I am being brutally honest as I think it is time to chat about them, to remember all the good times and remember how much I LOVE them as they made me who I am today. I often see me doing or saying something either one of them would say. I know I have sayings that I learned from them that my children wonder where did that come from? But we are what we grew up with, and I want to remember the good times! So this is to my parents and everyone’s parents in the here and now or up in heaven as it were. I am hoping they are looking down and smiling! ❤

This year in particular has made me realize I should and could do more to celebrate my parents. I think through this blog and reading other blogs has made me want to put my emotions and thoughts on paper ~ or type on my computer how wonderful my parents were, such truly special people, they taught me so much. I have always thought that having a big heart is so important and I got that from them. Such heartfelt human beings that would give their shirts off their back to those in need. I am humbled by my parents and all they accomplished. I could write a novel about their life, hmm…. For now I will just write this blog. 😀

This photo was in my father’s wallet. It has a scratch on it, but still worth sharing. Hi Mom and Dad! I Love you to the moon and back! ❤ ❤ ❤

There is so much I can write about my Mom and Dad. But as my thoughts wander the reason I decided to write about them now is because on June 25th my Mom would have turned 91, my Dad would have been 87 this year. They have been gone 16 years now and of course I think about them every Mother’s day and Father’s day. My Dad’s birthday was in March so through the Spring they are always in my mind. My Mom loved to garden and I can remember her talking about one day wanting a big garden. She would have loved to have had a green house to grow many things, she never got the green house she wanted but she did have a green thumb. Awe, memories are so wonderful. I remember the artichokes in our backyard and my favorite, gardenia! I have been wanting to plant gardenia to grow in my garden, I must do that this year! ❤

My Dad bless his heart was always by my Moms side. He worked up to the very end to help make ends meet but the two of them were inseparable, the way it should be I think. He was a Psychiatrist and an accomplished pianist. I am not a doctor but work in the medical field and I am an accomplished pianist as well but not as good as my Dad. He was so inspirational, we were so very close and I think I was one if not the one, his favorite. Thinking about him now brings tears to my eyes, awe Dad….. I just miss them so…. (See how hard this is to write and think about them? Ugh, but it’s all good. I want to honor them with this post. They deserve to be remembered with ALL MY HEART! And hopefully I will write more about them, it’s my plan.)

In honor of my parents, my Mom loved gardens and flowers!!

I had a vision of what I was going to write and now that I am writing it has morphed into something a little different but I am loving this post. I am loving feeling the LOVE of my parents, to think about them in a positive way and not the sad, I miss you so much way. I know that last sentence was rather goofy, but I think you get the jest of what I am trying to say. To shine a light on my overpowering emotions, here’s a little back story.

When I was growing up I would freak out whenever my parents went on a trip. It didn’t matter if they were going to be gone the weekend or a week or two. I, as a child thought I would never see them again. I thought the plane would crash or something terrible would happen to them. In other words, I was dreadfully attached to my parents missing them more than a normal person should. Then once I met my husband and we started having children I ended up asking my parents if they could be my babysitter as I needed help working full-time. They landed on hard times and needed a place to live (a very long story) and so they lived with me and my family for almost 20 years. SO That is why I am so emotional. This is so cathartic and thank you for reading my story about my parents. I am feeling warm fuzzy feelings with every word I type.

From my garden to yours Mom!

I am hoping to share more in the future and to celebrate my parents and remember them. I hope you all have the best parents too. I know this isn’t true for all and pray for all who don’t have that special relationship. My husband is taking care of his Mom who will turn 90 this October. She has some dementia, but is still living by herself. He is an amazing man taking such good care of her, he is her only child. We have had such different lives growing up him and I, but that is for another blog post. Thank you for celebrating with me. I wish you could have met my parents, they were amazing people!!

With all my Love, to you Mom and Dad!

Weekend Coffee Share; Middle of June ~

My smiling rose! Because it makes me smile!

Welcome to my coffee share where we share coffee with new friends and old. Can I get you a cup of coffee or tea? I am having a cup of mango tea, so very sweet but good. It is already the middle of June, can you believe the year is half gone? The time flies so fast these days, and so much has happened in these last 6 months. It always amazes me how time flies. I know I have written about this often and they say the older you get the faster it seems to go. I think I have to agree! do you? I am enjoying a short visit with my family in Arizona. I have to say this has been a wonderful trip and it has helped me see my vision of moving here someday in the future. I am thinking maybe sometime next year, we will see! 😀

We went in some model homes. This is a view from one of the new homes, wouldn’t it be fun to buy a new house? My son and family are hoping to buy one next year!
My son in the model home! How fun to look right?
Little Alice fell asleep in the car, we are going to get lunch!

We are having a great time together and we went out looking at some open houses and model homes. It sure is fun to look and my family here is planning on buying a house early next year. It makes me think about what we would like to buy someday once we get everything taken care of where we are living in California. I have talked about this before. I had set in motion moving here earlier this year, but we had to set our plans aside because I did not have a job to go to in AZ. I am going to have to work on that and we need to work on our house to sell in CA so we have plenty of time and do not need to rush. In the meantime, it means visits here which even in the heat is totally enjoyable with this lovely family of mine. I am super blessed, and I am going to share some photos of this cute patutie, my granddaughter! ❤ ❤ ❤

She is so beautiful, like a little angel to me!
Having fun blowing bubbles as she pops them! Haha!!

We have so much FUN together! She asked me to blow bubbles as she watches and pops them. She is so silly and a little to young yet to teach how to blow herself. One day I will teach her how to blow bubbles! It will be so fun. She was so excited asking every day when I was arriving. She then asks me every day what day I am leaving. It is definitely hard to live so far away and I know I am not alone in this world having to live miles apart from family. It does tug super hard on my heart as she is my only granddaughter. She is such a special little girl and definitely a driving force for me wanting to move. I also do consider the change as we have always lived in California. I think a new beginnings would be great fun even though saying good bye to what we know will be sad, exciting to say hello to the new chapter. I am writing about this because I want to keep the dream alive! I think that makes sense. Can I get you more coffee or tea? I have one more photo to share. 😀

Love her smile! I say this often, she melts my heart! ❤

She sure makes me laugh, such a bright shining star! I hope you all are having a great weekend. I know this is Father’s day weekend so Happy Father’s day to all those father’s out there. Mine is up in heaven, I love him so and I am thankful I was able to be here for my son in wishing him a wonderful Father’s day. ❤

Love being Grandma! Blessed and Happy!

Memorial Day – Thank You!

First I have to thank all our Veterans who have sacrificed with their lives as we honor all of those this Memorial Day. We are a military family, my husband was in the Air Force and my daughter is a Captain in the Air Force. My Dad was a Captain in the Army many years ago, rest in peace Dad. ❤ My heart goes out to all who serve or have served as it is a sacrifice that you would not know unless you have experienced. It is a Memorial Day too for all our fallen horses, too many to count in past wars throughout the ages.

Switching gears here, I was able to get out on the trails and I wanted to share some photo’s. I work night shift and so I have mornings free to ride with my friends at the stables. I do have this holiday off so I get to sleep tonight after a 5 day stretch. I usually have my week broken up with days off after a couple of days of work. My days off are all over the place, but it all works for me with my horses. 😀 😀 😀

My ride on Saturday in between rain storms.
Gracie looking at something on the trail today. It was a pretty morning, so cool at 60 degrees!
Heading down 6th street in Norco today. It was too cold and windy yesterday to ride! Haha, I can’t believe I am writing this at the end of May which is usually in the 80‘s! 😀

We have been having so much weather it is great! I am wondering if Summer is coming? I’m thinking that with the climate these days, maybe we will have a cooler Summer. I would not mind that at all! I have had a nice weekend even though I had to work. Enjoying my horses and being able to trail ride is always something near and dear to my heart so I am so grateful that I can fit this into my busy schedule!

Miss Chloe after our trail ride. She is such a veteran, with tons of trail miles and is a very steady mount! ❤

I had every intention of riding Zack today, but since I worked last night and then after my ride on Chloe I was feeling rather tired. So I decided to work him in the round pen and then gave him a proper grooming. I plan on riding him tomorrow. I am thinking a better plan of riding is riding one of them one day and the other the next as I usually end up biting off more than I can chew, as it were. I always set lofty goals, and then as the hours tick by my body is saying, nope. You need to stop and get some rest! ;D

We are really bonding and he had a nice little workout in the round pen!
Silly boy, he really stretches his head sideways for a treat. I could take so many photos of these cute horses! I guess I already do! HAHA! ❤

What ever your plans may be I hope each and every one of you has a WONDERFUL Memorial Day. I know it’s true meaning is for our fallen heros, we shall never forget. EVER!

Thankful, grateful and indebted,

-Diana

Weekend Coffee Share – Family and Smiles!

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!

What kind of coffee would you like? I can’t drink black so I always have a flavored creamer, the one in my fridge is Italian Sweet Cream. I can get you some tea if you would like? If I drink tea, I like ice tea or green hot tea. I am sooo looking forward to this weekend as my family from Arizona is here visiting. I can’t wait to see them all, especially my granddaughter Alice! ❤

I started my weekend by a good walk around my neighborhood. It was a brisk 53 degrees, very cool air on my face during my walk. I am glad I wore a pair of jeans because I could feel the cold through them a bit, I don’t like it when it is too cold. I know, I know, 53 isn’t considered cold but for this southern Cali girl it was a bit chilly. Haha, I am who I am and a fair weathered person it is for me here in Norco! 😀

The view this morning as I walk around a big block!
I live across from the Junior High School. My kids someday if they read this will have lots of memories from this school. Norco, Home of the Bobcats! The last part of my walk home.

I have been living in Norco with my family for 14 years and living in the general area almost 20 years. I have lived in California my whole life, except for the first 2 years of my life. I was born in Suffern, New York and my parents moved our family to Colorado Springs, Colorado and then to Southern California where I have remained. It’s been crazy to see all the growth here, the traffic is horrible. But the weather is awesome, no wonder it’s so crowded! How is your coffee? can I get you another cup? I get off on tangents. But thinking back is making me SMILE, I have so much to be grateful for with a beautiful family and wonderful family I grew up with! Lots of smiles and hugs to all my sister’s and brother and their families. 😀

My home sweet home. This is at the end of my walk the sun came out to warm me up! ❤

This is what it is all about right? Family, a home, Love for all which puts nothing but smiles on my face which is what I wanted to share for this weekend. I get so giddy thinking about my granddaughter. She fills my heart and soul with her spirit and her contagious smile! I can’t wait to see her, and its always a little hard for me to say good-bye. One day I will live closer to them, I will figure it all out and make it happen one way or another but for now I’m super duper happy for our visits. ❤ ❤ ❤

I know I’ve shared this photo before, but its so good and fun to see again! She’s a cutie patutie!!

Thank you for sharing some coffee or tea with me this weekend. I hope your weekend will be full of smiles.

Love being Grandma, Loving Life, Hugs and smiles!
