Welcome and come on in and have a cup of coffee or does a cup of tea sound good? As I am writing this I am finding a bunch of changes with my WordPress site which I don’t usually complain about but I am a bit flustered and so I am going to try and overcome these changes and move on with the task at hand. My very busy month of October!! It truly was one of the most busiest months yet this year. I think I will share the weeks in order of all that transpired and then share some photos of the month.
The second weekend of October my hubby and I drove to my daughter’s to help her pack as she bought a house a town over. Her lease was up and she was asked to move and so she took this opportunity and found a nice townhome in a beautiful area called Arroyo Grande. We packed up her kitchen and as much as we could. She would move the following weekend.
The third weekend my sister’s came to town. I am one of six and four of us, some with spouses were together and two (one sister and one brother) could not make it and it was not a reunion, more of an impromptu get together. One sister and hubby was attending their High School band teacher’s 90th birthday party on Saturday 10/15 and so other sister’s took the opportunity to come and visit. They all have other friends here which we visited with as well. It was a FUN and very busy weekend. On 10/14 it was my mother-in-laws 93rd birthday.
The fourth weekend was my birthday weekend and I also had vet appointments two times this month for my horses. My Chloe girl was suffering from scratches which is a skin condition which could be bacterial or fungal. Either way I had to call the vet so he could treat her systemically with some drugs to help her skin heal. She is doing wonderful, but it was a bit stressful getting through all of this with her.
After two weeks of her treatment I had scheduled a vaccine clinic with my vet and other ladies horses at the barn for their winter vaccines. All the horses are doing great now, but with a busy month it felt like all I was doing was spending money. Haha, this is a rather odd coffee share for me. Now I have a bunch of photos I would like to share.

For the horsey people that follow me my vet said that he commended me for trying to combat the scratches on her leg but in actuality the only way to treat it completely is systemically. And after a months time (maybe 6 weeks) of buying all these special shampoos, ointments, creams even Manuka honey these scratches just kept getting worse. It would move around the leg from the coronet band up to her pastern and even on up on her cannon bone. SO FRUSTRATING!
For the non-horsey people, scratches is like scaly, flaky, scabby skin in the hair of her leg. As you remove the scabs when scrubbing it can leave raw skin. I had to shave the hair multiple times but to no avail until I called the vet. As the scratches worsen her leg started swelling consistently hence why I called the vet. I didn’t want her leg to get a secondary condition which could happen if left untreated. She is now FREE FROM SCRATCHES!! YAY! I am so excited we battled and won! I now keep a standing wrap on that back leg to help support her and keep any unwanted debris from her skin.

After my daughter had the movers move her the weekend all my sister’s were visiting, she told me she had a surprise! She had adopted a kitty (about 5 months old) from the local shelter. I knew she wanted to get another kitty but she just moved!! YIKES! But it’s all good and maybe it was a good idea since her older kitty was now in a new house and so her territory was new to her and she accepted the new kitty well. They were separated at first but are now playing with each other. I went up to help my daughter unpack last weekend on the 22nd which was a fun way to not only help my daughter unpack her kitchen ( I packed it up and then unpacked it all!) I also got to meet her sweet new kitty! We had a great weekend together!

Thank you for visiting and sharing coffee or tea with me today. I feel a bit out of sorts but soldiered on as I really wanted to share this weekend. I’m not sure why changes have been made but when I am typing away it doesn’t look like it did. Thankfully when I preview my post it looks like all my other posts. I think it is fun to change things up and so this is working for me today.
I hope you all had a wonderful October. I have a couple of photos I will end with as I finish out this month and can’t believe November is next week. I hope everyone is doing good and that we all have fun with the holidays nearing. I need to figure out holiday travels and am hoping things settle down a bit as I feel like every weekend it has been busy. Thank you Natalie for hosting the #weekendcoffeeshare as I link up here if you care to visit others. 😀

Busy Mom, Grandma and Cowgirl!

Glad you posted despite feeling out of sorts. That is interesting about having to treat the scratches systemically..happy to hear Chloe is feeling better!

Thank you so much. I’m so happy I pushed through my frustration as it felt good to share once I got my footing and the words started flowing! And I learned something new after owning horses for so many years with the scratches. It was an expensive vet bill but worth every penny! Chloe is doing great, so thankful! ❤️

Glad Chloe is doing better! I’ve had the experience of treating scratches myself and having it go away. I’ve also had the experience of it spreading and having to call in the vet! It can really be a frustrating problem for both horse and owner, right? And congratulations on your daughter’s new kitty adoption! What a lucky cat!

Funny thing is Chloe’s scratches started with a little spot on front legs which cleared up with my topical meds but that darn back leg just got worse. Definitely a frustrating thing to deal with but so happy she’s better. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with scratches too, maybe a lot of horse owners do at one point or another. My daughter is in kitty heaven with her new addition as she wanted her other kitty to have a friend while she’s away at work. Such lucky kitties! 😻❤️

WordPress occasionally makes changes, and I am not always happy with them. I hated this last batch. I know they are catering more and more to phones, but there are still some of us who sue a computer, and they make it difficult!
I’m glad Chloe is doing better. And it sounds like Murphy is doing well.
Sounds pretty busy. A lot happening. But I am sure it was good to spend time with your family, both siblings and daughter.
Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week ahead!

Usually I go with the flow with the WordPress changes, but this time around was so frustrating, haha! I didn’t know the changes would be for the phones as I only write posts with my laptop. I read most everything with my phone tho and reply with messages with my phone too. My phone says not enough space to actually write a post. Lol
I’m so happy the horses are doing good, so much better after the vet call for Chloe! Murphy is growing and doing great too. He’s tall enough, I think he grew an inch this last year as he’s huge!!
And thanks so much for stopping by as I’ve been super busy, a little stressed too with all the happenings. I reflect after thinking why was I so stressed? But it was partially because I couldn’t be in two places at one time. I so wanted to be at my daughter’s when she moved, but had so many visitor’s with my sister’s the same weekend so I had to stay home with them. It’s all good. Have a wonderful week ahead!

Thank you so very much for the belated birthday wishes! My daughter is loving her new home as am I as it’s the perfect townhome for her in a beautiful area!! Everything went really well this last month (even though I felt some stress) and am happy I got to see my sister’s. I’m happy my horses are doing good now too. I hope you have a great week ahead! ❤️

So busy, busy, busy 🙂 How fun that your daughter bought a house a town over. I bet it is wonderful to have her close by, and since she bought it perhaps she’ll stay a longer time there. Even though you are so busy, you seem very happy, reading between the lines. I hope I got that correct 🙂 Have a wonderful new week ahead! ❤

AWW, thanks so much Maria! I am really happy 👍😀 I’m glad that shined through my words as I’ve been wanting to share but when starting out and stumbling on the changes in WP, a bit of frustration flooded my brain. Hahaha, but I’m truly grateful for everything even though I’m so busy this year!! That being said the only thing I miss is my grandkids but maybe someday they will move back closer to home as they’ve been talking about how much they miss California. The last few times they’ve come back to visit they say they miss being here so MUCH! It will be some time before they could make such a move with my son needing to find work and all. My dream is to have my family a bit closer and easier to visit but I can’t complain! Thank you for visiting and I hope you too will have a wonderful new week! ❤️

WordPress and their changes ae a pain in the butt LoL I love all your horse pictures. I had a couple of horses when I was younger but unfortunately, the photos have faded with age.

Yes, darn technology! Haha, I love and hate it sometimes!! I’m so happy you enjoy the horse photos, I so love to share! ❤️ I have many faded photos too, from my younger days. I use to show them Hunters and was with a horse trainer for many years! Thank you for stopping by today! 😀

Well Diana you have certainly ad a busy time. So nice to see your family photos. I get it about scratches .I have not had to deal with it but I know it can be a real pain. Mr.Murpy reminds me of Biasini looking at the phone for treats. Anyway I hope you can rest up a bit now and thanks for filling us in. Happy Halloween!

Hi Diana,
Loved your update about the horses heath issues. I’d never heard of this aliment.
About the WP changes – they absolutely frustrate me too. I defend myself by keeping my story pages and posts as simple as possible. I can see you’re using blocks for the block editor. I avoid using anything but the classic block because every time I try to dip a toe into trying block features, I waste so much time trying to clean up the mess they make. I’ve found I do need frequent uses of the code editor also, with can be tough, but I’m used to a small amount of HTTP programing so I have a bit of a head start there.
Finally, does your browser support use of Ctrl (plus) and Ctrl (minus) to enlarge or shrink the font size? If you, that will sometimes surprise you by losing or adding back some page features. You page is find once you publish or update it, but it’s scary having things strangely drop out and come back but it’s likely only a font size issue and the browser not displaying thing right.
Thanks for the visit.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for you input on WP and all it’s things. I didn’t stick with the classic and jumped into the blocks awhile ago which I’ve figured out and it seems to work for me. I like to label my photos as I post them and it took a few minutes to find the “write caption” drop down but I finally found it. I haven’t bothered to change font size, I do try and keep it simple and part of me thinks it is what it is and I was happy with the final product. I’ll keep that in mind going forward, and may get back to you if I have any questions with WP. Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful week!! 🤩

Such fun with nearly all the fam, The view from your wonderful daughters apartment is great. Of course no move is complete without adding another cat, Must have 2 one for each hand to pat. So glad Chloe is on the mend. I have never heard of scratches on horses. Here in Aussie there is a Queensland itch that horses can get all over pretty nasty but a wash in nappisan washing powder & a rub of coconut oil usually remedies that pretty quick thankfully.
93yrs what a wonderful amazing celebration. Loved the photo of the Hubby with his Ma. treasured moment. Gotta love the Murph he’s such a dude, pats & hugs to all human fam & menagerie fam.

Thank you sooooo very much for your wonderful comments!! I Love it when you visit and have time to chat. I’ve never heard of nappisan so I looked it up, and with that I can see how it would remedy that skin condition in horses. Here in the states horses can get sweet itch (sometimes called summer itch) which may be the same kinda thing. It was sure fun putting this post together and I’ll give hugs and pats to all. Sending hugs and pats to you and furry family too. Have a wonderful week! ❤️🐴🤠❤️

My, you have been busy… and little changes in things like WordPress easily pile on the frustration. It’s good to have your horses to keep you on track. Glad to hear they are doing well.

You hit the nail on the head! I just wanted to write up my post and dang it, I couldn’t figure out where things were on WP. Hahaha, I finally took a deep breath and found what I was looking for and was able to get it all written down.
And I’m so thankful for my horses, to keep me on track and to give me that calming normalcy in such busy times. Thanks Grammy for stopping by!

Thank you so much for the coffee Diana and what a busy month you have had! So lovely your daughter has moved into her own home in Arroyo Grande. My late great-aunt emigrated to the US as a young nurse and settled in Arroyo Grande in the late 1960’s and lived there for the rest of her blessed long life. She loved it and said it was a very friendly place to live. So glad Chloe is fully recovered from her scratches and Murphy looks so well too. Wishing you all a happy November and please give sweet Chloe and Murphy a big pat from us all 🤗🥕🧡🥕🐴 xxx

Thank you so much Xenia for stopping by and chatting today. That’s so neat that your late great-aunt lived in Arroyo Grande as it’s such a lovely town. I can see why she stayed and retired there as it’s so beautiful with wonderful weather too. It’s nice to know my daughter has found a nice place to call home. ❤️ Thank you for the well wishes, those ponies are so cute and am thankful they are doing good too. I’ll give them a big pat from you all! And please give Misty a big pat from us too. 🥰🐾❤️🐴🤠🧡

Cant believe its almost Christmas now haha! Have you started knitting those trademark gloves and scarves yet ^_^
I really hate finding unexpected changes in WordPress and having to adapt and adjust aaaaah can they at least send us a notification or something instead of just being shocked when we sign in… but no it seems they are committed to their commodification of blogging resources with less emphasis on the the actual bloggers themselves but I digress…
Glad the horses all better even if the wallet got a little lighter hahaha had no idea what scratches are but I got a bit of understanding and kudos to you and Chloe and the vet ^_^

Time is just flying by and I haven’t been making the gloves or scarves, maybe next year! Haha, I do enjoy making those as gifts but am taking a break this year!
I also agree that a heads up with WP changes would be nice, but I didn’t give up and I’m proud I figured things out. Lol 🤣
And thank you for the well wishes with the horses. It was a bigger vet bill than I anticipated but worth it and am happy the horses are doing good and Chloe is free from those darn scratches. It’s just a skin infection. Always great to have you visit B! 🥰🐴🤠
