How are you today? I know for some it is summer and so maybe a cold brew is in order! I do know that there is plenty of cold out there as I have been visiting other coffee shares and brrr…. it is cold in the north! I can’t believe it is Jan. 22 and with it being 2022 that is a lot of 2’s. I am not a numerologist but I like numbers. I am more of an astrology gal, as I love all things astrology and find all the charts and signs fascinating! Okay, I am going down a rabbit hole and wonder where my mind is going. When I am here writing and sharing I usually have a bit of a plan on what I want to share and to be honest if I don’t have a plan, then I just don’t share anything. Hence why I skip some weeks, I only share when I feel inspired and everything I have written so far is literally just thoughts flying out and so let me hone in my thoughts!
I want to share that I enjoy blogging very much and I have found that my blog revolves around my life as stated but I enjoy sharing that with photos. That is my inspiration is being able to take photos of things that inspire me and so in turn I hope they somehow inspire you! And with that, what inspires you? I find as I am taking photos thoughts of a smile post, a horse trail post or a weekend coffee share starts to form and so I take my photos and plan out my post. I have so much fun thinking of how I will share and inspire! π

I am giggling here as guess what we didn’t have back in the 70’s! Spell check! Hahaha, I have spelled Norwegian Wood wrong! And I just discovered this as I am typing in 2022! Oh my goodness, all this time I had it wrong. What is that called, literary license? Sort of? Holy smokes, I should have looked at the Beatles album more closely as that is the song I named my horse after! This piece of leather with the silver name plate I used on my show bridle when I showed my Hunter, who’s barn name was Chester in the 70’s. I found most of the bridle today when I was rearranging my tack room area. I decided to go through some rubber tubs I have which is storing horse stuff and that’s when I found this brow band! I also found 7 bits, and I have more than that in another plastic container. I probably have over 15 bits, maybe more! I really need to go through my stuff!

I have no idea where I am going with this post. I am a bit all over the place especially since I found out I don’t know how to SPELL! Thankfully, since it is a name I know lots of folks who don’t spell names correctly on purpose. So now that I’ve made a huge deal out of this I know no one would have ever noticed but me as I typed it into my computer and it was auto correcting my spelling. Okay, shake it off Diana! Haha, and I have to say I will use the browband in a shadow box or something of the sort as it doesn’t take up that much space to save this browband. π
Onward Diana! I wanted to share my cross-stitch I’ve been working on and I have one photo of my progress from some weeks ago and a new photo today of how far I’ve gotten on this project. I thought it would be fun to share as I enjoy sharing my crafts.

Once I get closer to being done I will take a better photo. What will be fun is when I use black to outline everything and then things will really pop. The people near the little building will be better defined and I will outline the wheels to the carriage and all the rigging for the horse. The barn will be outlined and will be so pretty. There is still a lot to fill in and stitch but I am more than half way done! I will share the two other seasons I have completed when I get close to completing this one. It is such a fun hobby!
Can I get you a refill? As I segue back to the horses I have a video of Murphy lose in the arena. I took the video last weekend and wanted to share it with you all. My other Murphy news is that I took my first lesson on him with a trainer that comes to our barn for other riders. I knew I would be asking her for help as I have gotten so far and I knew I wasn’t connecting the dots as it were with his training and I needed another eye to see what I am or am not doing correctly. Remember, my original training was many years ago and so I am a bit rusty. Trail riding is not arena riding at all and so it was great fun to get this lesson!
Lisa is very kind and explains things extremely well. I need to focus more when riding, she has some helpful focusing points for example; ride to a post on the rail and look through your turn to another post and so on and so forth and when you focus on this it will help teach Murphy to focus and comply. I was so amazed on how much better he got in that lesson as we both walked with purpose from one side of the arena around the corners to the other end. I won’t get into all the details (as there is much more) but as she is reminding me of things, memories are rushing in and I can’t wait to continue on this journey. I will take a lesson every 2 weeks and work with him in between for the next few months or so and then see where we are at and if I need to continue. I am so thankful and grateful for her help! β€
I know this has been kind of a crazy coffee share post. Haha, maybe I can blame it on the wind! Maybe the wind is making my thoughts all kind of crazy today. It is super duper windy here in southern California! It gets to be so darn windy we can’t ride. So I can’t practice, bummer. I was so looking forward to riding this weekend and it is suppose to be windy tomorrow too. Oh well, there will be plenty of good days to ride. I haven’t been able to ride Miss Chloe on the trails this last week because they have been working on the trails replacing all the wooden fencing with white vinyl fencing. They finally finished Friday!

Murphy is huge! He has a big head, big ears and a huge heart! He truly is so sweet, gentle and kind. I will end here and hope you all have a wonderful weekend and week ahead! If you would like to visit other coffee shares please click here ~ and I have to thank Natalie for hosting our #weekendcoffeeshares
Crazy spell checking horse Gal! π

How cool that you still have that browband, creative spelling or not! And what a marvelous photo of you and your horse back in the day. Impressive! Pretty cross-stitch too. Lots of pretty photos in this post for sure!

It was a Happy surprise to find the browband. β€οΈ I still have my English saddle from that photo too. I need to clean it again soon, its still in good shape. I have a much newer one that I use when riding Murphy.
And thank you so much as I enjoyed my Hunter/Jumper days back in my teen years. When I graduated from High School I went to work for Bob and Debbie McDonald and they were my trainers when this photo was taken. Debbie McDonald is a renowned dressage rider today. We have fallen out of contact with each other, it’s been so many years. They are excellent trainers and I was able to do so much with my horse back then. He just Loved to jump!! β€οΈπ΄β€οΈ I’m so happy for your visit and wonderful comments my sweet pony friend!!

Hi Diana! When I read everyoneβs coffee share Iβm glad to be in Ireland where we have 6-11 degrees C during the day and no snow or such. I love your cross-stitching! Funny about your spelling error! I didnβt see it to begin with although Iβm a language geek. I was so focused on the concept Norwegian wood and recognised it from something like a bluegrass album and started wondering if Norwegian wood is a βthingβ I should know about.
Photos are lovely for sharing the world around you! Have a lovely week.

Hi Susanne! Ireland sounds wonderful and from photos I’ve seen from others visits definitely a beautiful place to live! β€οΈ One day I want to visit. I have a friend who has visited and went horseback riding there! She and her boyfriend rode out on trails along the countryside!!
We always try and pick a special show name for our horses and since my horse was a deep color brown I thought he looked like the color of wood and I really liked the Beatles song so there it is, Norwegian Wood! Haha, we often named them after a song, or something meaningful to us personally. π I’m so happy you enjoyed, have a great week and thanks for visiting! β€οΈ

Hi Diana, Maybe the person who did the engraving spelled NW wrong and it wasn’t you π There is a novel titled Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. It was a literary success. I’m glad your trail riding lesson went well and both you and Murphy got so much out of it. Your cross stitch project looks beautiful. I like the red barn and the horse outside. Thank you for linking up with #weekendcoffeeshare.

Hi Natalie, you could be right about the engraving, maybe it was the engravers error. It sure made me giggle and obsess over it, hahaha!! I will check out the novel, thank you kindly for sharing with me and thanks for all your wonderful kind comments!! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! π₯°

“Now that was a nice jump! What a second, though… did you see that? The name plate on the brow belt has a misspelling!” lol. If you saw the mistake for the first time 40 some years later, I’m sure nobody else noticed. I like numbers, if not numerology, and I’m waiting a month for 2/22/22… It will be nice to see the cross-stitch when you are finished. Hope you have a wonderful week!

AWW, thanks so much Trent! I miss the jumping but I’m not that young any more so it’s all good to just look at my old photos! And so right, no one noticed it was spelled wrong. I’m so silly, but was so surprised in that discovery! π
Ooh, I can’t wait for 2/22/22, I enjoy hearing it reading about numerology, but follow more closely astrology. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week too!!

Hi Diana, I’m coming to you via Natalie’s Coffee Share links. I love your post. You write like I think. When I first started blogging, I named it Streaming Thoughts, because that was what I did. I also found out that I can’t spell. Even with spell and grammar check, my friends still point out the errors of my way. No matter, I enjoy writing and communicating with others across the globe. We moved here in Prescott, AZ from Woodlake/Elderwood, CA near the Sequoias about half-way between Fresno and Bakersfield or LA and SF. Have a wonderful week of lots of adventures that you will share next week. π

Hi Marsha!
Thank you for visiting and finding me thru the coffee share links! Thank you for your kind comments, especially since my chatty thoughts were a bit wind blown this weekend! They are streaming thoughts for sure!! I’m so happy it was an enjoyable read, and I agree as I enjoy writing and communicating with others across the globe too. This technology still amazes me, it’s so cool! Blogging is a blast!! π€©
My son, wife and 2 grand children live in Peoria, AZ (it’s near Surprise, AZ) and my son works at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. We’ve been wanting to move to AZ to be near them but things didn’t work out so we decided for now to stay here in CA. I know Prescott is a beautiful place in AZ.
I haven’t visited Woodlake/Elderwood area but I’m up visiting my daughter who is stationed at Vandenberg Space Force Base. It’s so beautiful in that area, she’s not far from Solvang. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead and I’m following you and Manny’s adventures too! β€οΈ

Thank you so much for following, Diana. Solvang is so beautiful. I did one post on it years ago. What a lovely part of CA that is. If you ever get over here to visit, give me a call. We’ll get together. π Surprise is not too far away. If you know Colleen Chesebro, she lived there until last year.

Aww I love seeing your pictures of Murphy and your videos they are so fun. I have everything to make it I just got to take a couple days to get it does before she takes time off π Have a great week from one horse crazy lady to another β€ π

The weather is rather crazy and I hope you don’t get too flooded! I’m sure you need rain but yes, I wish it would rain in more moderation! I know mother nature has other ideas however! Haha π€£
Oh and I’m glad to be helpful so you didn’t need to Google the browband! It was fun to figure out the arrow on the photo I shared! π And yes, I did create some drama over the spelling situation. Lol I was just in a mood I guess cuz I also thought if I don’t say anything at all, no one will notice most likely! Thanks though, that bird has flown!!
Thanks for visiting B!! Always love your visits! π€©

I am enjoying coffee with you, even though I am about a week late. My daughter and I both had Covid. We are slowly starting to feel better. That is why I never got around to write a coffee share last week.
I so enjoyed this post, anything with horses. it was a lot of fun seeing the old photo fo you and your horse with the purposely miss-spelled name π I hope you are happy and healthy, Thank you for the coffee!

AWW, I’m so very sorry you both had Covid. I was wondering as the last I read or heard was that your daughter had a fever and you were going to get tested. When I didn’t see anything shared last week I kind of figured you may be out sick. β€οΈπβ€οΈ I’m glad you are feeling better. Sending warm hugs your way and strength to getting back to feeling normal hopefully soon.
My son and daughter-in-law in AZ had Covid a few weeks ago and their kids were sick too but they didn’t test them. Now today my granddaughter is sick with a slight fever and sore throat and they decided to test her with a home kit and she tested positive. Darn virus, and my grandson is sick too but he’s just 2 yrs old And they don’t want to stick anything in his nose because he wouldn’t like it so they are just assuming he has it too. I’m praying my son and his wife don’t get reinfected, nasty virus!
I’m so happy you enjoyed my post! It’s always so FUN to share all the horsey and not horsey stuff, my crafts are fun. Oh yes, fun to share my old Hunter photos too. I’m doing good and am happy and healthy!! Thank you for stopping by, and so very good to hear from you!!! β€οΈπ΄β€οΈ

wow – you have been riding a LONG time – and I never would have known the Norwegian Wood was spelled wrong (funny how our mind just fills in letters at times)
and best wishes going through the tubs. They can sneak up on us eh?
oh and I think one of the best ways to blog is th ay you do – wait for the inspiration and then let things breathe as needed – I am trying to do that more and more.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments!! Yes, I’m just as horse obsessed as I was as a teenager but I don’t have the energy (or money) to do all that horse showing. I’m so thankful I was able to ride and show when I did back then. And boy, lots of things sneaking up on me as time just flies by! π You are the sweetest as I’m happy you enjoy my streaming thoughts and my blogging process!
