My Weekly Smile; Thankful Thoughts

Welcome to my weekly smile and for this week I want to share thankfulness. I am thankful my horse Murphy is doing good and the belly ache he had is gone and he is eating well, looking great and back to his happy self.

I am thankful for our health and well being. I know we all are busy and with being busy we need to be mindful to take care of ourselves. I know I am thankful for my new job being able to sleep at night which I know is keeping me healthy. I have been at my new job 8 months now and all is very good.

I am thankful for all of my loved ones and family. We have had our ups and downs, but we all love each other and are so supportive of all we do, I feel blessed. I big shout out to family and loved ones!

I am thankful for all my friends. I have such gratitude for all of my friends, even if I do not see you every day or often I think about all my friends and how lucky we have each other.

Lastly, I am thankful for this blog which brings me lots of SMILES! I am smiling as I write this and this is the shortest post I think I have written in a long time. But that’s what blogging is all about right? Write what you feel, and for this week I wanted to share that even if I do not know you well, or you never comment but read my blog, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Its such a pleasure to share, and brings me joy and smiles. I also like to hear from you, what makes you smile?

I’m smiling because over a year ago I decided to stop coloring my hair blonde. It is naturally blonde but mostly really dark blonde almost brown. It has taken me a long time to accept myself as me. I don’t need to stay blonde to be me and I don’t need fancy hair cuts to be me. I cut my own hair and I love it. (I followed a Youtube haircut instructions!) I am learning to love myself even though I want to lose a few pounds. I am learning to love myself thinking I should work out more, or walk more, or look prettier! We are our hardest critic, I know, I know too well. But we are who we are and I have found with age, all of these things just don’t matter so much any more. It’s what’s in your heart, and my heart is big and SMILING!

Smiling, Thankful, Friend, Mom, Grandma!

  1. Such an uplifting post! So very happy Murphy is well. Our pets are family and their health affects us! Thank you for sharing. By the way, I stopped coloring my hair 20 years ago and have never regretted that natural step. πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you so kindly Susan for your wonderful comments! And that’s good to know you haven’t regretted not coloring your hair. I’m enjoying this year watching it grow out (which at times was hard because you know, it just looks terrible with the line of different colors from coloring). After I chopped off most of the old colored hair, it looks healthy and darker but I like it a lot!! Thanks for visiting! πŸ˜€

  2. I didn’t realise Murphy had been poorly and am so happy he’s feeling better and eating well again 🧑 So much to smile about and be thankful for and natural hair colours have always been my favourite. Wishing you a wonderful new week and please give sweet Chloe and Murphy a big pat from us all πŸ€—πŸ§‘πŸ΄

  3. Thank you so much for the reminder to learn to love ourselves! I vowed a long time ago never to color my hair, but then again at 35 I’m only getting a few grey hairs in here and there. I agree 100% about the importance of what’s in your heart and your heart is definitely big and smiling!

Also so glad Murphy’s doing better. 🌹

  4. I always like when smile posts become gratitude posts. I have a huge amount to be grateful for, but rarely put it in writing, and seeing people do it always makes me smile πŸ™‚

  5. I love your post it made me smile because I also try to be thankful everyday even though I do have a hard day and don’t feel thankful. First and foremost I am thankful for my Lord & Savior and I am thankful for my wonderful husband who is so kind and makes me laugh everyday and who works so hard to take care of us and our home ( I can’t wait for him to retire from driving a truck, soon I hope) I am thankful for my boys they have grown into wonderful men with such big hearts. I am thankful for my crazy cats and my silly dog. I am also thankful for your blog and for you writing it as it woke me up to needing horses back in my life and it is because of your blog I put my foot on the gas to find a place to volunteer now I not only have ALL those wonderful and silly horses in my life I have found new wonderful horse loving people as new friends. I am also thankful for my sewing room ❀

  7. I just love that your posts are always so happy and genuine. I went from dark brown hair to white/grey a couple of years ago. It took me a long time to actually do it but finally I got shingles on my face and in my hair so decision made. I am so glad I did it finally! I would love to cut my own hair but it would be disaster. I did find an amazing hairdresser a while back and love her so much. Now she is Dan’s hairdresser too. πŸ™‚ Have a great week, Diana!

    1. Thanks so very much for your sweet comments! I Love to stay positive about things, and with that being happy too! It’s so nice to find a good hairdresser and one that Dan can use too! I’m waiting for the gray hair, I have a few strands so we will see how long it will take to get totally gray!
Have a great week too! ❀️

      1. Life is too short and precious to not be happy and positive. πŸ’ž

Dan is so happy that he has found Morsal. His last hairdresser wore big rubber kitchen gloves during the pandemic. He came home after his last haircut with her feeling like she had pulled half his hair out. (what was left behind looked like she had chewed it off 🀣🀣🀣). It was so funny – and sad. I told him I would share Morsal. He loves her. She knows his schedule is brutal so she always fits him right in, gives his a super quick haircut, and does a great job.
