Weekend Coffee Share; July 4th Weekend!

May peace, love, and happiness always be with you!
Wishing you a very happy Fourth of July ❤

Welcome, I got back from my first walk in about a month. I was giving my knee time to heal and it is progressing nicely. It got a little sore as I was on the last leg of my walk which was just under a mile which I didn’t mind because I knew it was a good sore. Meaning I need to strengthen my knee and I know I didn’t over do it, just got it working so that I can get back to my normal walks. I took a few photos when I was out this morning. It was a nice 65 degrees (18C) this morning which is so nice to walk when it is cool. The high today is expected to be in the 90’s – 96 (35C) to be exact and believe it or not as long as it stays under 100 degrees it is tolerable to be out and with my horses.

I forgot to offer you a some ice coffee or tea? I am thinking it is summer and already pretty warm and so the iced drinks are just so refreshing. It’s definitely summer and we try and ride early to beat the heat and am hoping we don’t see too many days over 100 degrees. We don’t ride when its that hot, and we try and keep the ponies cool by hosing them off on really hot days. My girlfriend and I have been enjoying this weekend and trail riding on our ponies. I was able to take a short video I will share. I have so many ropes to take care of when I am riding and taking Zack along ponying him that I have to be careful. Chloe is a steady trail horse and the trails we ride on they know very well. I am very grateful having such great trail horses!

Our 4th of July trail ride! LOVE our ponies!

I hope the video plays correctly. I know the last one worked fine. It is so FUN to share, we have such a great time and our ponies bring us much joy and happiness. I say this all the time and can’t say this enough. We have such a connection with these giant beasts, they rely on us to keep them in a safe place and we in turn try and be gentle, kind and give them guidance in a way that is respectful for both horse and human. They really understand so much and they always amaze me how smart they are and how we can actually communicate with each other. So MUCH FUN!

Thank you so much for enjoying coffee with me today. This weekend we celebrate Independence day and I can’t believe how different this celebration has been this year. We heard and saw some far away fire works from our front porch. There was plenty of fire works going off around the neighborhood (which is illegal) but plenty still fire them off which I know can scare many animals. My horses do fine, I have one dog that gets nervous but they did great as we keep them near us through the worse of the fireworks going off.

I hope you all have a relaxing weekend. I hope you were able to get outside even if it is a walk around your block. I think being able to get out of the house and doing some sort of exercise is so important for your mental health. I am not an expert mind you, I just know that one needs to get some fresh air and keep moving no matter what age you are, this is so important and can sure bring smiles your way, I know it does for me! 😀

Happy 4th of July Weekend!

~Diana ❤

  1. I enjoyed the trail ride video. Biasini would love to go on those rides with Chloe and Zack. I think he could probably pony a horse too. He’s pretty good with other horses being close to him out on the trails. I hope you have had a good weekend. We have an ongoing heatwave up here and I am really enjoying it. Biasini does well in the heat so he is fine. Have a good week Diana!

The horses are really good in the warm weather, and I’m glad you are getting some nice heat. Sometimes the heat warms you up in a way that just makes you SMILE! Have a wonderful week too Anne! ❤️🐴🤠

  2. Hi Diana, yep, this has to have been the weirdest 4th of July’s ever for us.
Our city fully banned both personal and public fireworks, but we live on the edge of suburbia and some of the small ranches nearby would simply not be denied their fireworks and so nightfall was a mad house of noise when I swear, I heard plenty of loud fireworks, likely illegal fireworks and almost certainly several firearms being fired off.

There is some outrage on social media but I doubt anyone will do anything about it. Our little town loves to pass ordinances that many ignore or find way to bypass.

Sigh. I hope you all are safe, had a great 4th and stay healthy.
    Blessings.

    1. Thanks Gary, yes, this was DEFINITELY a strange, weird 4th of July and I saw a photo on social media of the fireworks display that wasn’t suppose to happen meaning so many ignored said band. Anyways, we survived all the noise and had a nice weekend. Thanks for stopping by! ❤️

    1. Thank you so very much. It is a relief about my knee as I was praying it would heal without needing medical intervention. It’s almost back to normal!! YAY! 😍
I guess I never have taken a photo like this one of our front yard. We are on a pretty big lot considering it’s a track home. We are on the corner so if I wanted too, I could really plant some nice things. We use to have grass in the front but over the years with droughts, we let it go and we will landscape with drought resistant plants. I have a decent size back yard that I could plant fruit trees and such, but since I’m not experienced in such things I’ve never planted anything. My hubby wanted to landscape the back yard (not with the fruit trees I wanted), but something always needs more attention so it’s just all dirt with a storage barn and a saloon that my husband built. It’s actually another storage shed built like a saloon! Lol 😊 I need to convince him that fruit trees would be great to plant!! We don’t always think alike, and is probably why nothing has been done with the yard. Haha, this is a really long answer, funny how the years just fly by and I think we should do things say to the yards and we just never do! Hmm… We need to get motivated!

  4. Love, love, love, the video clip, so chilled. They are intelligent fun creatures, I love Zacks expression “yes, this is my pet talking to me again”, with love in his eyes. Say hello to your friend. I’m so glad your knee is ok for riding. We had dimwits across the road from us have a party a couple of years back & let fireworks off on the road right opposite our horses paddock, the horses nearly went through the fencing. I screamed at the dimwits then went to get the phone to call the cops. Was hilarious watching all the cars leave in a hurry before the cops got there. They didn’t have another party after that, party pooper, lol. I love how patriotic your country is. Have a splendiferous rest of the week.
