Weekend Coffee Share; Babies 2020!

Weekend Coffee share is a time for us to take a break out of our busy lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new). Please grab a cup of coffee or tea and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? It’s been a busy week!

Welcome to my coffee share and I have an announcement to make, I am a Grandma again! YES, my grandson came early this last week and what a crazy week. I also am noticing that I am writing this on 2/29/2020 leap year! 2020 is truly an exciting year as in my family there are many babies due this year. My Niece had her fourth son two days before my grandson was born and this grand nephew? I think he would be to me? was born on my oldest sister’s birthday 2/25! EXCITING! Everett is the son of my niece and two days later on 2/27 my grandson Teddy was born. I AM SO EXCITED! I may explode!! HAHA! I JUST LOVE BABIES! ❤ ❤ ❤

We had made plans for my youngest son who is in-between jobs to fly out this last Thursday evening to be in Arizona to help with my granddaughter while they are in the hospital delivering baby Teddy. My oldest son had planned this time with the help of doctor visits, Teddy wasn’t due until 3/9 so they thought this last week would be a good week to get brother out there to help. Around 7am mom’s water broke! OH NO! she is going into labor and my son isn’t going to arrive until that evening to take care of Alice.

So it was decided that he drive out (5 hour drive) as his ticket was basic economy, the cheapest and there was no standby option. He would have to buy a whole new ticket which was pricey. He made it in time to pick up Alice at the hospital and take her home. Teddy arrived 5 hours later. What a crazy week!!!

Welcome Theodore “Teddy” David to this world! 7lb 1oz birthday 2/27 ❤
Love these two SO MUCH! Photo taken before Teddy arrived in the hosptial!

So EXCITING! Such a great time for these young’ins. I remember those days, being pregnant and giving birth to some wonderful children and now it is their turn. I labeled this post as babies 2020 and one of my sisters has 5 grown children and they are all married with kids, but 4 are not done growing their family’s. The oldest has 3 girls and won’t have any more. How is your coffee? or maybe you are sipping some tea? I am trying to take in this last week, it’s like pinch me, grandma again!

I thought I would run down the list real quick. I already mentioned one niece had her 4th son on 2/25. My nephew’s wife is due 3/21 with a girl, and the next nephew’s wife is due 5/25 with a boy. Then there is one more niece due sometime in September and we do not know yet the sex so I have some time for home made gifts. My best friend has made baby crochet/knit items to help share with all these babies and I will make another baby blanket and baby hats to go with more baby booties. OH MY, so many babies this year! My oldest sister has a spreadsheet she keeps updating and sends to us and this family is blooming!! She will be busy updating it this year! 😀

Completed baby blanket for baby Teddy! I will make another with a different blue for niece or nephew. Maybe I will make two, it would look cute with purple yarn too!
Kitty thinks it is a nice blanket too! KITTY -follows me all around!
Here is booties and baby hats for a girl or boy. My best friend knitted the booties from my Mom’s pattern. My sister knows how to knit these booties too. I don’t knit, only crochet. Need to mail these out soon!

Thanks for visiting my coffee share as I am just so incredibly proud and very happy my family is growing and that everyone is happy and healthy. My youngest son will stay and help out for a few weeks and then come home. I’m so curious how my granddaughter is going to feel with a new baby in the house. She was the only one for the last 4 1/2 years, now baby brother will take time away from her! I know this will be very good for her in many ways. I am so excited for my son and his family. We are still working on moving to Arizona but the planning and figuring everything out is very daunting, never giving up on our dreams. Just need to take things one day at a time and keep plowing away on our goals. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. 😀

Excited, grateful, proud Grandma!

Weekend Coffee Share; Hawaii Travel FUN!

Weekend Coffee share is a time for us to take a break out of our busy lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new). Please grab a cup of coffee or tea and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? I’ve been very busy traveling!

Above is Hanalei Bay, Kauai and I can say that it has to be one of the greenest places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. I know many people have visited and I am so very happy I can say I have finally been to Hawaii! I have a lot to share, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and I’ll go through some photos. I took so many, I don’t want this to be a zillion photos so I’ll choose carefully. I can’t believe how busy I’ve been. My sister came to town from Idaho and she was here to see her son and help take care of my horses while I was away on my trip. She stayed long enough for us to enjoy many trail rides before she headed home. Hence why I’ve been away. It’s been a whirlwind of travel, visiting and then getting back into the groove of life! What has been happening in your world? I am hoping you are having a wonderful week into this weekend! 😀

My view from my window in Kauai. I am in the jungle, so it seems. What a beautiful place!
My daughter booked a movie tour where we road a bus to all these incredible sites where many movies have been filmed. The tour guide was amazing! A lady on the tour bus graciously took this photo of us, so kind!

It’s funny but I have it in my head about how long I want to write my posts and about how many photos I want to share and I stick to this kind of guide I’ve created. I know I don’t need to be exactly the same from post to post but I am struggling a bit as to how many photos and how much to share! Kind of silly really. I know you can read much faster than I can write and here I’ve just written a paragraph of nothing! But it weighs on my mind. So bear with me as I gather my thoughts. I think this will be one of my longest posts with probably the most photos. I think I will keep sharing and labeling the photos with a sprinkle of words in between. How is that coffee? need a refill? I also have shared on other social media and so this for some will be a repeat of some of my photos!

This is on Poipu Beach, the other side of the Island. We stayed in Princeville. We had dinner here and it was great to travel almost the whole Island!
I just LOVE this photo of my daughter and I
Beautiful ocean, beautiful daughter!
The falls behind us, I can’t remember what movie was shot here. There has been close to 100 filmed here and ads and TV shows too!
The weather is amazing here, super sunny and beautiful one minute with clouds rolling through hourly with rain! No wonder it is so GREEN! Another movie stop at this jetty.

We then traveled from Kauai to Oahu. It is a very short flight and oh what a different Island! It reminded me of California where I live to be honest as there is a lot more people in Honolulu, definitely more traffic than Kauai. We went and ate at Restaurant 604, with a beautiful view of Pearl Harbor bay. Even though traffic was worse on this Island, it was not as bad as CA traffic and we went to the Dole Plantation, the North shore for amazing shrimp lunch and a Luau on the West side of the Island. We went to Waikiki beach and ate a breakfast at Cinnamon’s, an amazing restaurant with the best pancakes and Eggs Benedict! I need to go on a diet, I ate so much and had such great food! 😀

My first ever bloody Mary. They are famous for their’s so I had to try it and I didn’t know it was spicy. I enjoyed it actually! This is at Restaurant 604!
Sipping my bloody Mary watching the sunset! Gorgeous!
Waikiki Beach, where we ate at Cinnamon’s! YUMMY!
Food truck lunch that Guy Fieri visited on his TV show Triple D (I’m a huge Food Network FAN!) The food AMAZING! Lemon pepper shrimp and Garlic Shrimp, at the North Shore.
Experiencing our first Luau! Great food and great entertainment. We did SO MUCH in 5 days!

I have decided to dedicate another post to Pearl Harbor and the photos I took there instead of cramming everything into this single post. We had such a blast, and I have to thank my daughter from the bottom of our hearts for this absolutely WONDERFUL vacation. It was much needed and she did an awesome job planning everything. We owe her so much, just indebted to her generosity and her LOVE for travel. She makes traveling even better as it is her passion. I so enjoyed everything we did and I am also very grateful she doesn’t mind keeping the traveling short. I know we could easily spend 2 weeks in Hawaii and visit other Islands but with my horses and work I find it difficult to be away much longer than 6 – 7 days at one time. This time away was PERFECT!

Saying Good-bye to Oahu, Hawaii!

Thank you for visiting and having coffee with me today as I reminisce about my travels. I had so much fun sharing, I hope you enjoyed. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Traveling Mom, Wife

My Weekly Smile; Feb. 5, 2020

What makes you smile? I so enjoy sharing and I have to thank Trent who hosts the Weekly Smile so we have a place to meet and share!

Proud mama weekend! I had the best weekend this last weekend being able to see my daughter be promoted to Major in the Air Force. How she has excelled and her dedication to serving this great country is humbling and I admire her determination and fortitude. I know I shared last week but the cup runneth over with gratefulness as I sit here thinking about this last week. As I share we have a lot happening as we have a planned vacation with her to Hawaii next week! (So EXCITED!) Lots to smile about! I’m smiling from ear to ear! 😀

Major Greener with her father. Smiling big, so very proud!

We had a nice time up in Orcutt, CA which is next to Vandenberg AFB. We explored a bit and I took a selfie of my family, minus my daughter who had unfortunately got a 24hr flu bug before she was promoted. She was home resting and of course made it to the ceremony but it was a bit stressful for her but it all worked out and she is thankfully feeling much better. We had great weather while there and thought I would share that photo too!

Me, hubby and brother!

As we headed into this week we had really strong winds. These winds can be so bad, up to 25 mile gusts and it just makes being outside miserable. They were cold winds as well, and so I really missed riding this week. It is calm outside today so I think I will be able to ride. I took the next photo of my trail ride on Sunday afternoon as it was not windy and we made it back in time for me to see my ponies. My obsession with them will never cease! They are my therapy, my muse and what helps keep me smiling! 😀

Beautiful day with my horses. Zack is here too walking by my side! I’m smiling!

Thank you for visiting my smile for this week. Can you believe its February? I probably will say this every month as these months just tick by. Haha, time just flies but I have to say that this blog has helped me slow down and enjoy each week. It makes me think back and be more observant which makes me appreciate each day. What makes you smile? Anything happening in your neck of the woods?

Thankful Proud Mom,

~Diana ❤
